Cody is currently a candidate for the Cerro Gordo County Board of Supervisors, District 2.

His interest in county government comes from the combination of experiences he has accumulated throughout his career: running a business, managing employees and budgets, overseeing public funding, teaching college students, working in the schools, working with juvenile court and youth on probation, providing counseling to families, and collaborating with government agencies and community organizations.

His priorities include responsible management of taxpayer dollars, maintaining roads and infrastructure, supporting public safety, protecting private property rights, supporting families and local businesses, and keeping county government accessible to the people it serves.

Cody believes county government works best when decisions are practical, transparent, and based on good information rather than politics or unnecessary conflict.

A theme throughout his campaign has been that leadership starts with showing up and listening.

That approach comes directly from his professional experience. Whether working with a counseling client, a student struggling in school, a young person involved with juvenile court, an employee, a government official, a business owner, or a resident concerned about something happening in their community, Cody believes the first responsibility is to listen, understand the issue, ask questions, and then work toward a practical solution.
